Onion Nets x 10 - Onion Storage


10 x strong woven red polypropylene onion nets are supplied. Each net is approx 52cm x 85cm and has a pull tie top, so it can be hung up if required. Onion nets are ideal for the storage of onions, shallots, garlic and other root vegetables and the nets will last for years. Please note the onion nets are not suitable for the storage of potatoes, they should be stored in hessian sacks.

Onion Harvesting Tips
1 Harvest onions when the necks have flopped over and
gone brown in the summer.
2. Lift out crop & leave onions to dry for approx 1-2 weeks or
inside on a sunny windowsill.
3. To clean onions rub off bits of dried skin & remove stems.
4. Discard any onions that are damaged or diseased.
5. Store onions in nets in a cool, dry, ventilated place away
from direct sunlight or frost.
6. Never store onions near potatoes, which give off moisture 
and gas, spoiling the onions.
7. Stronger flavoured onions last longer in storage than
sweet onions.
